Overview

Experience the best of Chobe National Park with this adventure-filled two day, two night safari experience. Start your adventure with a boat cruise on the Chobe River in Chobe National Park, one of the highlights of the trip as you have the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles and scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Coffee Buzz restaurant before heading back into the park on one of our customised 4x4 game viewers for an afternoon game drive. This is the best time to see Chobe National Park’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink. Head to Camp shortly after sunset for dinner around the camp fire, and listen to the sounds of the bush around you as you slumber in your tent under the African sky. Wake up at dawn with a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day), and after breakfast head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or wild dogs as they are still active at this time and chances of seeing them are good. Return to Camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to read, rest or take a refreshing shower. When the day starts to cool off another afternoon game drive follows tea, and good sightings are revisited or areas as yet unexplored are visited. Return to Camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat with your fellow campers. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night. On your final morning enjoy another dawn wake up and breakfast, and enjoy a final game drive as you make your way out of the park. This last drive may even prove to be the best and will, along with the others, remain etched in your memory as a truly great African experience. What makes this tour special

We will be camping in Chobe National Park in Exclusive Wilderness sites ie HATAB or BOGA sites, with no other campers nearby. If the sites are fully booked we will be forced to use the public site at Ihaha, although this is very rare. All trips will have a backup team, including a cook and minimal/no participation is required. Ablutions consist of rustic open air bucket showers and long drop-style toilets. We attempt to work two departures weekly: i.e. on Tuesdays and Fridays. In the event of groups of over 6 these set days are flexible and we can negotiate discounts for groups of over 12 pax. All trips will be run by skilled, licensed professional guides and a backup team.
